Event Description: Join us as we celebrate the Surf Ballroom's designation as part of the National Registry of Historic Places. Brief media event with plaque on permanent display in the SurfBallroom following the event.

DANCE LESSONS:

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
Location: Surf Ballroom Dance Floor
Event Description: Dance instructors Margaret Majerczyk, Amy McNace, Gary & Sherri Warner will host 50's styl dance lessons to include the British Stroll, Surf Strut and Boogie Surf Style. The last 1/2 hour will feature couples Jive Dance.

ROCKIN' THE ART OF '50s & '60's

Time: 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm & 1:00pm
Location: MacNider Art Museum, 303-2nd Street SE, Mason City
Event Description: What was going on in the art world while Buddy Holly and friends were tearing up the music world? One of the strengths of the American art collection at the MacNider Museum is the art of the second half of the twentieth century. Come to the MacNider and see what Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and puppeteer Bil Baird were creating. And don't forget the ladies! They have work by Lee Krasner and Helen Frankenthaler too.
Admission: Free admission, open to general public.

1950s VARIETY SHOW LUNCHEON:

Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm

Entertainment: The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Clear Lake Arts Center have teamed up to present a 1950's Variety Show featuring local musicians and actors. The show & luncheon will be Saturday, February 4th at the Best Western Holiday Lodge Diamond Ballroom. Enjoy musical vignettes, comical skits, a delicious lunch, & more! Doors open at 11am, lunch served at 11:30am, and the show will begin at 12:15pm. Tickets may be purchased on the Surf's website or by calling (641) 357-6151.

MEMORIAL SITE TOUR:

Time: 2:00pm
Location: Motorcoach departs from Surf Ballroom Lobby
Event Description: Escorted tour via motorcoach to the farm field north of Clear Lake, IA where the ill fated airplane came to rest. Tour length: 75-90 minutes. Video presentation en route to memorial site is included. Visitors are encourage to dress in warm layers-a 1/4 mile walk is required to see the memorial!
Tickets: $7.00/person (Available at Surf ticket office)

EVENING CONCERT:
